STAY

writer & vocalist

Recently, I have been working with composer and all round genius, Jenny Moore, on the beginnings of a short film about grief.

The piece is set to be scored by a collection of voices and I had the pleasure of working with performers Bianca Stephens and Witney White, exploring ways in which the voice can bend and move with text and sound, lead by Jenny Moore.

VISCERA

short film

voice artist

I worked as a voice artist being the ‘Inner Voice’ for Bhebhe&Davies’s award winning short film ‘Viscera’ for The Wellcome Collection. The brief was to be bold with vocals and play with rhythm, emotion and dynamics. An absolute joy to collaborate on.

“Viscera explores how we conceal, harness and perform our emotions. In this film, Bhebhe&Davies use choreography, sound and text to interrogate the slippery nature of how we express our feelings, with a particular focus on rage and its limits.”

Bhebhe&Davies is the collaborative practice of British-born Southern African performer and choreographer Nandi Bhebhe and Welsh artist Phoebe Davies.

SPRING SOMETIMES RISES IN ME TOO

art film

dancer + deviser

Soho House Art Prize winner 2020 Sarah Hardie’s film explores a female experience of lockdown, motherhood, production and nature – the marks we leave on others and the earth around us through either our care or neglect.

For this, I helped devise movement along with artists Angela Hardie and Nandi Bhebhe. We then filmed the short for two weeks in Newbury and Somerset House.

otherland present’s queer season

curator and producer

In 2019, myself and Ross O’Donnellan set up the queer company Otherland and programmed a season of work in progress pieces by queer artists.

The season saw over 10 companies full of brilliant queer creatives host a 1-3 night run of new work.

Many of the shows has since gone onto further development into Edinburgh shows, national tours and off west end runs.

gema collective

producer and podcast host

From 2017 to 2019, alongside actor and creatives Laura Waldren and Emily Carewe-Jeffries, we set up the GEMA (gender equality movement for actors) Collective and ran a podcast in which we interviewed women and non-binary folk in the industry to talk about their experiences.

The podcast was to empower our listeners and give an impression of what the industry looked like for those starting out. Following the success of the podcast we hosted scratch night’s to promote womxn and non-binary writers. Through GEMA, we connected with some brilliant performers, writers and directors and still remains something I’m very proud of.

follow that cuckoo!

podcast

voice of coco

During lockdown, the brilliant Wardrobe Ensemble started a podcast for young people where you follow characters Alph, Betty and Gammo on their adventures through space, time and beyond. Each episode had a guest and I had the great fortune of playing Coco the Cuckoo.

This was a lot of fun and one step closer to fulfilling my secret desire to be a CBBC presenter.
